Learning the fundamentals was helpful and the projects forced me to actually practice instead of just watching videos. It's flexible enough to fit around a job. Google's name on it looks okay on a resume even if hiring managers don't care that much.

The certificate is basically just a PNG you print out — not a magic ticket to employment. Course tries to cram in too many techniques without enough emphasis on critical thinking. Job market is brutal for certificate holders because there are so many of us now.

Really beginner-friendly with no prior knowledge needed. The course is well-organized and takes you through empathizing, defining, ideating, prototyping, and testing. You build three end-to-end projects which is more than some courses offer. Price is reasonable compared to degrees or bootcamps.

Self-paced sounds great but requires serious discipline. No one's checking on you, so it's easy to fall behind. The lack of mentorship hurt — would've paid extra for actual feedback from professionals instead of just peer reviews.

It's affordable compared to bootcamps and you do learn the UX basics. The flexibility to learn at your own pace is nice if you're working. Gets you familiar with Figma which is useful.

The hype around it is misleading. People think this is their golden ticket to a 6-figure job and it's absolutely not. You need way more than this certificate — real client work, networking, advanced skills. The course projects look the same as everyone else's, so your portfolio ends up generic.
